Palarn farm is a small farm located at Numsud Pattananikom Lopburi (164 Moo 2), near Parsak Cholasit dam. Tel. 01 7806176, 06-3226307. It was a Hindu-Brazil cow-breeding farm owning by my father before.
He ordered the breeders from Brazil, which were very popular in that time. However, the price of the cows became decreased due to the speculation in the market. This caused the cost of the cows became too high than it usually were.
Therefore, most of the farm owners sold a lot of cows with cheap price. I didn’t sell them, yet my wife and I travel around the town to find some more cows.
Everyone said I was crazy, but I couldn’t help that because I love cows. I also thought different: in my opinion, we hardly lose money with buying cows in the suitable price because they eat grass, which are everywhere. We only need to take care of the vaccine.
I chose Thai-Brahman cows because this species is suitable for Thailand: they can find food themselves, grow fast, have big body structures, and are able to adjust themselves to the environment around them. Moreover, taking care of them is not complicated at all.
I decided to apply for a ‘Cows’ Species Development Center’ with Animal Nourishing Department under Department of Livestock Development in 1996 and in 1997 Lumpaya-klang Species Development center informed me that they were selling the Brahman Breeder.
So I bought 5 and more after that, while I also sold Brazilian breeders. I have 45 Brahman breeders and 3 half-breeds, red Brahman, of which strains will be developed in the future. |
